Iraq War Anniversary Vigil
Americans across the country are more concerned than ever about our direction in Iraq. Now is the time for Congress to force a change.
On March 19th, thousands of us from organizations across the movement will gather together to observe the fourth anniversary of the war through candlelight vigils. We’ll solemnly honor the sacrifice made by more than 3,000 servicemen and women, and we'll contemplate the path ahead of us. We cannot send tens of thousands of exhausted, under-equipped, and unprepared troops into the middle of an Iraqi civil war.
Join us at a candlelight vigil on Monday, March 19th. Honor the sacrifice. Stop the escalation. Bring the troops home.

The following is a message from the host of MOONLIGHT PEACE/SUPPORT THE
TROOPS CANDLELIGHT VIGIL, the Iraq War Anniversary Vigil that you
signed up to attend:
Dear All,
Today is the day of our vigil. I have sent the last press release out
(I will attempt to cut/paste it into this email) via email and have
several to fax out yet.
Please make last minute calls and send out last minute emails to invite
people to come...they do not need to sign up, just show up on the beach
with a candle in hand and the want/will to make a difference.
REMEMBER:
A candle to hold/light.
Matches, lighter....
DRESS WARM, it will get chilly by 7 tonight
WHATEVER SIGN you want to hold or stick in the sand
Cameras
YOURSELF
A chair if you feel you will need to sit down as this will probably go
from 5-8 or 9...
Something to drink (water/soda) to keep hydrated and munchies so your
stomach doesn't growl and embarrass you!
REACH OUT: to others that may need a ride or are handicapped and may
need assistance once they arrive at the beach.
STILL NEED:
Lighters
Collapsing table
Think we'll have wood, but if there are a few of you out there that can
grab a couple of logs...
See you tonight!

PRESS RELEASE
Vigil by the Sea III will take place on the beach at the north side of
Oceanside Pier tonight (March 19th).
Setup of luminaries in a giant peace symbol will begin at approximately
5 p.m.
Lighting of candles of the luminaries will begin at dusk…individual
candles to follow.
Tomorrow is the FOURTH ANNIVERSARY of a war that has gone on too long.
THE COST HAS BEEN HUGE
Over 3200 UNITED STATES Troops have made the ultimate sacrifice
HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of Iraqis have died
Tens of THOUSANDS injured seriously
HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of Troops now suffering from PTSD
Substandard care for our Veterans
Gas Prices over $3/gallon
Continuing failure of our infrastructure, schools, etc.
OVER ONE HALF TRILLION DOLLARS SPENT
WHO IN OUR GOVERNMENT REALLY “SUPPORTS THE TROOPS”
IT IS TIME FOR US TO PUT AN END TO THE TRAVESTY
