I won't get into what I believe or what I've heard or what I think I understand, since I'm not sure it'd be helpful. But my question is this:
If Howard Dean, chairman of the DNC, controls the money and owns the little black book, then why hasn't he taken control of the party? He might be a moderate, after all, but he's not a Centrist. Somebody is controlling Howard Dean, so who is it?
Hillary Clinton is a prominent member of the DLC (Democratic Leadership Council, not the DNC), which is a Centrist organization dedicated to kicking out liberals and promoting empty candidates with no platform who will pretend to be conservative. But is the DLC (not the DNC) calling the shots? They themselves don't seem to have the authority (I don't think), but Hillary and Bill, member and supporter respectively, do. The Clintons do have the power to control the DNC from the outside.
But I haven't heard or read any evidence that the Clintons are controlling the party. So again: Who's calling the shots? Who's the group who's telling the Democrats in Washington how to vote and what to say, who're the people who're telling the DNC spokespeople what to say and to suggest that liberals are bad for the party and that the opinions promoted by progressive organizations like MoveOn.org are at odds with the Democratic Party, and that Hillary Clinton will definitely, at any and all costs, be our nominee?
